Spooktastic Picks | Halloween

Halloween Spooktastic Picks!

Left to right: Pop Boutique Halloween Scene Jumper // Halloween Lips Clutch Bag // Missguided Witching Hour Mesh T-Shirt // Skeleton Print Leggings //Teen Witch Slogan Jumper // Cobweb Choker Necklace // Topshop Lace Up Boots // Eye Clutch Bag // Pumpkin Socks // Monster Face Clutch

Hey guys! As Halloween is one of my favourite holidays, I thought I would pick out a few Halloween-inspired pieces that have got themselves onto my radar. Most of the picks are from Asos, as I always find a wide variety of fun and quirky pieces on their site, so much so that I struggled to narrow it down, so check out their website for lots more!
I absolutely adore the monster clutch and eye bag, and the great thing is they don't have to be worn just for Halloween, both of them would add a touch of quirkiness to any outfit! The "Teen Witch" jumper is reminiscent of Sabrina which I used to love watching as a kid, and how cute is the Pop Boutique Halloween scene jumper?! Arrgh. I really love how Halloween is such a creepy time of year, yet brands create really cute designs, because cute and creepy somehow really works.
So there you have it, my spooktastic Halloween picks. What do you guys think?
I am hopefully going to be going out for Halloween, but still unsure of a costume, its between a dead doll or Wednesday Addams. What are your Halloween plans this year?

In other news, it has been just over a year since I started blogging again. If you have been following me for a while you may remember last year's Halloween top picks!

A/W 2014 Winter Coats | Top Picks

Hey guys, now I know what you're thinking, winter coats in the middle of August???
Well us Brits have gotta start planning ahead, right? One minute we're all kimono-loving festival hipsters without a care in the world (picture open fields and feathers), and the next we're all about layers, layers, layers, open fires and Christmas shopping (argh why did I mention Christmas? Sorry guys). In short, summer's pretty much over before we know it, and the winter months start creeping in.

I'm a bit of a weird one when it comes to seasons. Most people say (for example) that summer's their favourite, however I float between Summer and A/W. I love summer for the carefree attitude to life, and obviously the sun brightens my mood - not to mention it is festival season. This summer I have discovered my love for kimonos and have really found my summer style.
Despite my love of summer, there is something nostalgic about the winter. I love the crisp smell in the morning, lying in bed til 11am doesn't feel lazy, and to be honest I find it a lot easier to know how to dress. I find summer quite difficult to dress for (this is a girl who wore a wooly hat through most of summer 2012) mainly because most of the time I am being a typical woman and stressing about what to wear. Combine that with the heat, the make up I have just taken time to do now dripping down my face, and my hair looking like I've been dragged through a bush - ok slight exaggeration, but you get the picture.

With all this in mind, I thought I would get a head start by shopping around for the perfect A/W 2014 coat.
I only actually own about four coats - one of course is my beloved leather jacket, two are denim jackets and the other is an army style jacket not deemed weather appropriate! So really a new coat is definitely in order.
I have noticed that the boyfriend coat is popping up for another year running; it's the perfect combination of tailored and slouchy, and great for cosy winter layering whilst smartening up outfits. I shopped around on various fashion sites and these are the ones that were my favourites!

The Boyfriend Coat

So there you have it guys, my top A/W 2014 Winter coats! As you can see, I am loving the checks and generally anything black or grey. These can all be jazzed up with a fur stole or kept simple and chic. I am going to be styling mine with ripped skinnies, chunky boots and a hat of some sort!
Which coat is your favourite? I would love to hear your thoughts! And also, is anybody else shopping for the perfect winter coat or am I just being premature?!

Spice Up Your Life

Chunky Summer Sandals

Left to right: New LookWhite Platform Gladiator Sandals // River Island Black Cleated Sole Sandals // Topshop Fang Double Buckle Flatforms // La Moda Black Chunky Buckle Sandals // Hologram Chunky Sandals // Fabienne Leather Mesh Sandals // Spy Love Buy White Flatform Wedges // Vagabond Dioon Sandal // Topshop Fernando Chunky Sandals

Seeing as summer is just around the corner I thought I would do a little post on sandals, not just any old sandals - chunky ones.
When I was about 11 (we're going back quite a few years now!) I found the most amazing bright blue platform sandals in New Look. This was when I was massively obsessed with the Spice Girls to the point where my entire wardrobe looked like I could be mistaken for the 6th member of the popular 90's band..... just kiddiiiing!
I thought I looked really cool, but in hindsight my ridiculous stick insect legs made me look like a giraffe with blocks of wood stuck to the bottom of my feet. Maybe now that I've got some extra padding on my thighs with some added cellulite these shoes could actually work for me.

I'm really loving the vast array of sandals out at the moment, so many different styles and colours to choose from and I want them all! I have chosen a selection that would suit all different tastes and styles. If your a sporty kinda gal then the Vagabond Dioon Sandals would be perfect teamed with some plain black joggers and a white boxy tee for a chic minimal look, or wear the La Moda chunky buckle sandals with a bright kimono, denim cut off shorts and your best sunnies for a festival look! Alternatively if your still channeling your inner Baby Spice then the white platform gladiator sandals from New Look would look super cute with a baby pink co-ord!

Unfortunately this new chunky sandal craze is not ideal if like me your wardrobe space is limited - do Ikea even do space saving solutions for chunky sandals?! Probably not. I will just have to limit myself to a few of these beauties so that I can pretend to be a 90's Spice Girl wannabe again!

Halloween Trend Inspiration - Spooktastic Picks

The day dedicated to remembering the dead is nearly upon us, and the high street is embracing this spooky holiday with lots of Halloween inspired fashion. These are my top spooky picks, my personal faves being the bat clutch, the pumpkin crop tee and the bat skirt! I'm not sure if I will be going out on Halloween this year, but these pieces definitely inspire some costume/style ideas!

I love this time of year, especially dressing up and carving out the pumpkin! My Mum has never really been a fan of Halloween so I didn't really get to celebrate it much when I was growing up, although she did help me dress up as a witch for a party when I was about 7 years old which was fun. I can't wait until I have kids of my own, will definitely be spooking my future house up, baking scary treats and throwing Halloween Parties!

What do you guys most love about Halloween?
