Outfit Post | Summertime Sadness

Dress - H&M
Kimono - New Look
Cleated Sandals - Primark
Floral Crown - Primark
Jewellery - Primark

So judging by the torrential rain we've had in the last few days I think its fair to say that us Brits have just about had it for summer (I'm lucky I took these outfit pics before that happened!).
I couldn't resist posting about this amazing dress I bought from H&M the other day. It is such a gorgeous print which reminds me of the bandannas I used to wear in my Rockabilly days, not to mention the fit is spot on and I loooooove the cut out detailing. I thought I would go all out festival style one last time by adding my New Look kimono and Primark floral crown for a bit of a colour pop.
The shoes I picked up in Primark for a small £14, I originally ordered these from Asos but unfortunately they just looked too clumpy on my feet (damn you size 7 feet!). These however are a perfect fit, are super comfortable and a damn sight cheaper! I also bought some other bits and bobs from Primark which I will no doubt be showing you all soon, they have so much nice stuff in at the moment!

So that's it guys, what do you think? I would also like to welcome my new followers, I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I do writing it!

A/W 2014 Winter Coats | Top Picks

Hey guys, now I know what you're thinking, winter coats in the middle of August???
Well us Brits have gotta start planning ahead, right? One minute we're all kimono-loving festival hipsters without a care in the world (picture open fields and feathers), and the next we're all about layers, layers, layers, open fires and Christmas shopping (argh why did I mention Christmas? Sorry guys). In short, summer's pretty much over before we know it, and the winter months start creeping in.

I'm a bit of a weird one when it comes to seasons. Most people say (for example) that summer's their favourite, however I float between Summer and A/W. I love summer for the carefree attitude to life, and obviously the sun brightens my mood - not to mention it is festival season. This summer I have discovered my love for kimonos and have really found my summer style.
Despite my love of summer, there is something nostalgic about the winter. I love the crisp smell in the morning, lying in bed til 11am doesn't feel lazy, and to be honest I find it a lot easier to know how to dress. I find summer quite difficult to dress for (this is a girl who wore a wooly hat through most of summer 2012) mainly because most of the time I am being a typical woman and stressing about what to wear. Combine that with the heat, the make up I have just taken time to do now dripping down my face, and my hair looking like I've been dragged through a bush - ok slight exaggeration, but you get the picture.

With all this in mind, I thought I would get a head start by shopping around for the perfect A/W 2014 coat.
I only actually own about four coats - one of course is my beloved leather jacket, two are denim jackets and the other is an army style jacket not deemed weather appropriate! So really a new coat is definitely in order.
I have noticed that the boyfriend coat is popping up for another year running; it's the perfect combination of tailored and slouchy, and great for cosy winter layering whilst smartening up outfits. I shopped around on various fashion sites and these are the ones that were my favourites!

The Boyfriend Coat

So there you have it guys, my top A/W 2014 Winter coats! As you can see, I am loving the checks and generally anything black or grey. These can all be jazzed up with a fur stole or kept simple and chic. I am going to be styling mine with ripped skinnies, chunky boots and a hat of some sort!
Which coat is your favourite? I would love to hear your thoughts! And also, is anybody else shopping for the perfect winter coat or am I just being premature?!

Outfit Post | Jump Around

Crop Top - Topshop
Levi Jeans - Thrifted
Tattoo Choker ebay
Leather Jacket - Oh My Love

Hey Guys, first off a massive welcome to my new followers (insert big cheesy smile here), I really do appreciate you all taking the time to read my blog!

Here is what I wore for a meal date with my fella this evening (on the rare occasion that we get a day off together - being a grown up sucks!). Please forgive me for my awkward posing - I am still getting used to this outfit posing malarky and a lot of the time I am panicking that my neighbours are going to walk by and start asking questions! Anyone else get that?

Anyway onto the outfit! This outfit was a little Winona Rider circa 1990's, abeit she does it better. The jeans were thrifted from a carboot for a mere £1. I know, I couldn't believe it either and they're genuine Levis! I picked up at least 5 pairs (a.k.a I took the lot) and will probably ebay the rest cos' you know one man's trash is another man's treasure! The top I bought from Topshop a while back when it all went palm tree loco on the high street, and the jacket, well, if you have been reading this blog a while you'll know its pretty much my wing man in all outfits! So that's pretty much it guys, I am really longing for a decent camera (hello Canon 600D), at the moment I am having to make do with my iPhone and some pixlr editing!

Also, just quickly before I go, the title of this blog post "Jump around" is to pay homage to Robin Williams. I am absolutely gutted about his death. Myself and my brothers grew up watching Mrs Doubtfire, Jumanji and Flubber so it is like a little part of our childhood has died. I am forever quoting Mrs Doubtfire and it is one of my all time faves - I particularly love the scene where Miranda comes home to find the house in complete carnage (pony chommin' on some cake - lolz) and Robin Williams's character is dancing with his son on the table to House of Pain's "Jump Around". It is such a tragic loss, and even worse to know it is suicide.
I know that sometimes life can be hard, but we all need to remember that we are not alone in this world and there will always be someone we can lean on, no matter what life throws at us.
RIP RW gone but not forgotten. xx

Weekly Wants

Wishlist

Hey guys, I haven't put together a weekly want list for a while, so thought I would show you what I have been lusting after!

1. Vintage Levi Jacket - After seeing so many people on Lookbook styling up their outfits with an over-sized denim jacket, I am completely sold. I found this one on ebay and at a fair price of £24.99!

2. Black Fedora - I have been after a fedora for a while now and saw the beaut that is Georgia wearing this fedora in a few of her outfit posts recently. It looks the perfect size, some of them are so scarily big - Topshop I'm talking to you!

3. Motel Sunflower Dress - I had previously mentioned that I was totally digging the sunflower theme this summer, Motel have some lovely sunflower themed pieces in at the moment, its so hard not to want them all! This dress just oozes 90's style, and would look amaze styled with DM's and the Levi jacket, or even a black lace kimono and cleated sandals!

4. Grafea Checkboard Backpack - Arrrgh this bag. Need it, want it so badlyyyyyyy. Nuff' said.

5. Moto Black Wash Hayden Jeans - I featured these jeans in a few of my Polyvore sets and wish I had bought them at the time, because they are now sold out in my size. I just keep hoping that they will come back in stock so I can stop dreaming up outfits with them!

6. Dr Martens - Still kicking myself  (pun very much intended) as to why I ever got rid of mine, but hey, these are back on my radar. I have been looking at a few second hand pairs on ebay as I prefer the battered boot look!

7. Clinque Age Defense Eye Cream - Ok, so I know it may seem a bit random to add this in amongst the fashiony bits and bobs, but this cream is the shit. I'm not gonna lie, I have some light wrinkles... it happens. I should get over it, but I can't. So I popped into the Clinique counter at Debenhams for some advice. The lovely lady there told me that this cream would help reduce them.
I asked her there and then, in so many words, if she was bullshitting me. She said no...obviously. Anyway, she gave me a free sample so there was no harm in trying.
After about 3 weeks of using it morning and night, I really did start to notice a difference. The lines had reduced and my eyes looked less puffy. It is pricey at £30, but the tiny sample pot lasted me 3 weeks and you only need to use a tiny amount.
Yay for keeping wrinkles at bay! Did not mean for that to rhyme - honest!

Hope you liked this post and are all having a lovely week!

Outfit Post | Eye Can See You

Leather Jacket - Oh My Love
T-shirt - Monki via Asos
Jeans - H&M (old)
Sandals - New Look via Asos

Hey everyone! Here's another outfit post - excuse my frowning face, it was very windy!
I love love love this eye print t-shirt by Monki, its just one of those tees that's the perfect shape & length.
As its quite a busy print I kept it simple with my oh my love leather jacket (standard), and my H&M jeans which are so old they started ripping at the knee themselves!

In other news what is going on with the weather? I have found myself scouring the net for the perfect winter coat (all I know is its grey and boyfriendy!) and dreaming up A/W outfits which include said coat.
Anyway I would just love the sun to come back out to play and stick his bloody hat on!

Stylespiration Sunday

Welcome to a new section of my blog "Stylespiration Sunday". I love reading other peoples inspirational blog posts, so I thought I would create my own. I have always had computer folders bursting with fashion, hairstyles, makeup, home interiors, photography and tattoo ideas that I love, so I thought I would start sharing some of that with you - here's what's been floating my boat this week!

If I had long hair I would totes be rockin' this hair style. Everything about this image is just perf!

I can't get enough of the sunflower print at the moment. I love the 90's vibe it brings, and its a great way of brightening up an outfit without being too OTT.

I have owned 2 pairs of Dr Martens over the years and for some reason, that I can't quite recall, I have ended up selling them both on ebay. Silly me because these boots are timeless. I think every girl should own a pair; they can change the feel of an outfit completely, not to mention after you wear them in a bit they are super comfy!
I remember buying my first pair of DM's when I was 16. I immediately got them out of the box and jumped all over them, I hated how pristine they were and longed for the scuffs and creases. I used to buy colourful laces from a local "goth" shop to brighten mine up but this time I think I will stick with a classic black lace when I repurchase - and I won't make the mistake of re selling them, those bad boys will be sticking around till I am old and grey!

Oversized Vintage denim jackets - I don't know why I don't already own one, enough said. Also I should mention this girls style is unreal - serious wardrobe and hair envy, check out her lookbook here

Finally Fedoras - I have been after the perfect one for so long but haven't quite found it yet! They're a great way of accessorizing an outfit and perfect for hiding bad hair days which I tend to have most days!

Outfit Post | Back In Black

Bowler Hat - Topshop
Dog Bite T-shirt/Dress - River Island
Leather Skirt - H&M (old but similar here)
Leather Jacket - Oh My Love
Ankle Boots - H&M
Necklace - H&M
Duffle Bag - Primark

Hey guys, here's a little outfit post from the other day. I do love an all black outfit! With weather as changeable as the UKs (even in summer) black still has its place - thank god! This is an outfit for those "its sunny 30% of the day but mostly cloudy" days.

I love this dog bite tee that I bought from River Island last year, its actually a dress but I like to wear it as a top and I think it looks perfect paired with leather. The bowler hat is my go to at the moment, its a great way to accessorize an outfit without trying to hard and can be worn all year round.

What do you guys think of my black summer outfit? Does anybody else like to wear black in the summer?
